About Us

Fairmount was founded in the country hills of Franklin Park, Pennsylvania, 13 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, in 1822. We are a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian denomination, which history and standards of faith can be found HERE. Our confession of faith emphasizes a commitment to the Bible as God's infallible and inerrant Word and to God's sovereign covenant of saving grace through Jesus Christ. Though a member of the ARPC, we strive to promote the unity of the family of Christ in God’s truth and love in our community, across denominational lines.

On Sunday, dress is anywhere from casual (come as you are) to semi-formal and worship music is a variety of traditional hymns, contemporary songs, and Psalms.

We are a small, welcoming family church, which seeks to encourage one another in relational community as disciples of Jesus Christ, and which seeks to serve together to see new disciples come to faith in Christ, both locally and globally.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not die but will have eternal life." John 3:16

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39

'"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

Mission

Our mission is to love God and people and to share the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

LOVE GOD through worship, prayer, and learning and living out His Word.

LOVE PEOPLE through discipleship, outreach/missions/evangelism, fellowship.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47
